Episode 4
Thanks for reading!
"I can't wait to meet Galaxy!" Dakota squealed. Irena and Dakota had been going over plans for the concert.
"I have our hotel room, tickets, passes, and dining!" Irena said, looking at the time.
"I guess it's time for you to meet for your study group?" Dakota asked. "I bet there will be lots of hot boys... all his friends are hot!"
"If they are anything like him, no way!" Irena cringed. "He may have been nice to me about the study group, but he is still a jerk face."
"I think you still like him." Dakota raised an eye brow,
"If like is another word for want to suffocate him in his sleep."
"What ever you say."
"I have to be going now, though. I'm already a little late."
"We should have just met at your house."
"Yeah, well, I wanted to see how he would explain visiting my house without me being there. You know he still doesn't want anyone knowing about him living with me."
"Well have fun with all the cuties." Dakota sent her off.
When Irena came home, she was surprised to find that there were no hot boys. Instead it was Nina-- just Nina.
"What a way to keep you guests waiting," Micah said.
"How did you two get in?" Irena gave him a devilish look.
"What family friends don't know where the spare is?" Micah smiled coolly.
"Oh, yeah." Irena said lowering her head.
"You have a nice house." Nina finally said.
"Thank you." Irena noticed how pretty Nina was. She was starting to see the reason Micah agreed to study with her.
"Should we start." Micah suggested.
After an hour of spending time on math, which Irena failed horribly at, Micah and Nina started a discussion about the newest campaign for elections.
"I think we should consider someone who not only knows what the sims want but also someone who knows how to gain us more employment." Micah went on.
"I agree that employment is important right now, but what about those who are not spending money. How can we gain employment if no one is spending money, thus having more employment to give people. I think we need someone who can cut back the taxes or give sims more opportunity to spend. Then we can worry about employment." Nina counteracted.
"But perhaps if people had more jobs to gain money to spend, we would have our solution." Micah said again.
"Hmm.. good point. Irena what do you think?" Nina turned to her.
Irena looked up startled. She had not paid any attention to their conversation. Politics bored her to the point of hiding in her room when her father watched the elections.
"I vote for who ever my father votes for. Only to get his vote in. I figure he knows best." Irena said. Realizing the error in what she was saying, her eyes fell to her hands.
"See there is our issue. The future of our country is in the hands of a generation that does not care." Micah pointed out.
Irena's cheeks burned. She felt a little out of her league between the two of them.
Nina's phone started to go off. After reading her text, she had a slight smile on her face.
"A few students were nice enough to invite me to hang out on the beach with them. I think I'll go before the weather gets too cool. You two should both come."
"Sure, I'll go to the beach." Irena chimed. She couldn't resist seeing all the boys in their swimwear.
"Oh I'm sure you would." Micah said, noticing the look in her eye.
"What jealous?" Irena chimed.
"Actually, I feel bad that you will be prancing around all the boys while they all think of you as an immature child." Micah was not amused by her throws at him.
"I'm sorry, but I am a woman. One of these days you will realize that." Irena stuck her tongue out at him and headed up stairs.
"So you two are family friends?" Nina asked after Irena was in her room.
"Our fathers are friends." Micah stated.
"I see. She is a little... amusing." Nina smiled.
"I was surprised to see her study so hard earlier, actually." Micah confessed.
"She must be trying to get your attention." Nina smiled.
"Actually, I think there is something she wants to do. But we will see how long she keeps it up. She seems to have a lot of distractions," Micah said thinking of her googling all the boys.
A few minutes later, Irena appeared at the bottom of the staircase.
"Are we ready to go to the beach or what?" she asked. She flipped her hair and arched her back trying to prove how flattering she is.
Micah rolled his eyes.
The three of the arrived at the beach. The sun kissed their skin, but the slight wind in the air cooled the warm air around them.
It didn't take Micah long to disband from the two girls and find few of his friends to hang out with.
"He doesn't socialize to women much does he?" Nina asked Irena, rubbing the nap of her neck.
"Socialize? A woman would be lucky if Micah Dastin gave her the slightest bit of attention."
"Really?" Nina inquired for more.
"Well every girl who has ever asked him on a date or anything like that, he either turns them down or ignores them."
"So, I'm guessing you have asked him out?"
"Why would you think that?" Irena bit her lip.
"It seems to me like you have a crush on him."
Irena crossed her arms.
"I do not have a crush on him. He is a jerk."
"Oh, so you did ask him out."
Irena stared at Nina with her eye brow knitted in bewilderment.
"Lets just enjoy the beach," Irena grumbled.
Irena had went to go get some drinks when she was pulled off to the side.
"So Irena, what are you doing here and arriving with Micah?" Jenna interrogated.
"I don't even remember inviting you," Carma furrowed her brow.
"I wasn't invited by you." Irena stammered.
"Then did Micah invite you! He doesn't even come most of the time when we invite him." Jenna bellowed.
"I-" Irena couldn't get the words out. Confrontation was not on the strong side of her personality.
"Oh hi girls!" Nina said, interjecting their interrogation on Irena.
"Oh Nina! Thank you for coming," Carma beamed.
"I hope you two don't mind, but I invited Micah and Irena to come with me."
"Oh, not-at-all." Carma went on. "Micah is always on the list. He just doesn't come most of the time. And as for Irena, we never really hung out, so we never thought about it. If she is cool with you, then it is cool with me." The last bit seemed forced.
"Thanks. Great party!"
"Yes. I hope you two enjoy the party." Carma turned and gave Irena an ugly look. Irena's toes piddled in the sand. She felt out casted, but she was thankful that Nina was on her side. I guess she was nice to me, Irena thought.
Irena decided to follow Nina around. Irena became interested on what made everyone like her. She was smart, rich, pretty, and mature. Irena grumbled at the fact that even Micah was interested in her enough to go to the beach with her. However, Irena noticed that Nina shadowed Irena around boys. Not that they had even given her much attention anyways, but it was obvious that while Irena stood right there next to Nina they never even noticed her.
"It's hot out here!" Irena fanned herself heavily.
"So you really did go to the private academy in Bridgeport? Why in the world would you move here?" Nina was asked.
"I think I am going to take a dip in the ocean. Anyone want to join me?" Irena looked between the both of them who did not seem to notice at all.
"Well, my mom wanted a more quiet life from the city."Nina answered.
"Well I'm going into the ocean." Irena stepped away from their conversation. She couldn't even get the boy to look at her for even a second.
Irena slowly walked into the ocean. The current was stronger than usual, but Irena paid no attention as it relieved her from her disappointment. Nina this Nina that. Irena squinted her nose, then released a sigh when she thought about how nice Nina was to her.
Irena swam out more into the ocean. Irena was sure to stay within the areas that she could reach because she could not swim. She went out just a little further to allow the waves to carry her to the shore. Today, the tide was high and the water was much cooler than normal. Irena stopped walking when she realized she was just far enough out that she could stand on her bare feet without the water covering her head. A few waves came in allowing Irena to float upwards and back down on her feet. It was something she loved to do to release stress. It was as if the wave was taking the stress away with it.
Another wave came in and Irena noticed that it was a lot bigger. The wave carried her up but when she rode back down she could not touch the bottom. Panic set in quickly as Irena's face was emerged by the salty water. She inhaled as a reflex, taking in the salty water through her nose and mouth. When she reached the surface, her yell came out in gargles.
Micah and Nina were discussing the new science facility.
"I think that the knowledge from some of the experiments will be interesting," Micah told Nina.
"I agree." Nina replied. "Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" Micah tuned into his senses. His ears searched for what Nina was hearing before he heard a faint, "Help!"
"Oh my plumbob!" Nina pointed. "It's Irena!"
Micah turned around, but didn't see anything at first. Then, a little black head bobbled in the water and started to scream again, "Help!"
Micah instantly took off, diving into the water. He swam out towards Irena. He could see her flailing about in the water. Her picked up pace and became within reach of her.
"Hellllp!" He heard her more clearly.
"I need you to calm down." He said as he reached her. He knew that if she kept flailing while he tried to bring her in that she would drown them both.
Her head went under again. He reached out his hand to hers and pulled her up.
Irena latched on to his back.
"Calm down." He said to her again.
She coughed up water. Her eyes were red and swollen from the salt.
"I can't swim," she coughed.
"Just hold on to me and I'll get us back to shore," Micah told her.
Irena did as she was told.
When they reached land, Micah did not ask Irena if she was okay. He dropped her arm when he was sure that she could stand and walked up towards the beach.
"Wait!" Irena ran after him. She was still trying to catch her breath from the water that entered her lungs." I want to thank you!"
"You can't even swim and you went all the way out there! Are you stupid! You almost drowned out there! What is wrong with you." Micah growled at Irena.
"I-" Irena, surprised at his outburst, had a lack of words.
"Do you have any idea how stupid that is! If you were trying to get my attention you succeeded!"
"Now look here! I would not try to drown purposefully!" Irena grew angry by his accusation.
"Well there must have been some reason you were all the way out there!"
"There was a wave! I didn't know!"
"Stop! It doesn't matter" Micah threw his hands up. "I saved you. At least I don't have to watch one more person drown to death."
"Another?" Micah's words surprised her.
"Never mind. Lets just forget this." Micah said dishearteningly and started to walk away.
Irena's eyes fell to the ground. She had not realized that he had lost someone more or less watched them drown. Irena realized that there was a lot about Micah that she did not know about him.
Even if he was a jerk, I will let this one slide. Irena agreed to herself.
"Micah, I saw it all! You saved her life!" Nina ran up.
"She is okay. No big deal." Micah said.
"No big deal. This is a Sims life we are talking about!" Nina boasted. "Irena do you really feel okay? Maybe you should sit down."
"I feel fine thank you." Irena said quietly.
"We should go get some lemonades down at the bar. Then we can continue the conversation about the science lab." Nina turned to Micah.
"Sounds good," he replied.
Irena could not help but notice that they did not offer her to come with them. Her face became slightly pink. Had she intruded on some sort of date? That's the feeling she was getting at least.
As Irena walked towards to upper beach, ready to catch a cab home, her phone went off. Happiness took over her when she realized it was her father.
"Dad"
"Hey honey how are you doing?"
"Good. I'm at the beach with some friends."
"The beach. That sounds like fun. Is school going okay?"
"Dad it has only been a week."
"Well still, I would like to know. Have you been accepted into any academies?"
Irena became silent for a moment. She didn't have the heart to tell her dad yet that she had not gotten in.
"Oh, I haven't heard from them all..."
"I'm sure you will get in to one."
Irena bit her lip. She had not gotten into a single Fashion Academy.
"So how are the Dastin's doing?"
"Dad! Micah is such a jerk! How could you have him live in the same house with me!"
"Irena! You better be a good host. They are our guests."
"Lee is great. He can stay, but I should be able to kick Micah outside to live with the dogs."
"I thought Lee said he was helping you study?"
"Well, yeah. But still, he is a jerk."
The two caught up on life from the past week before coming to an ending to the call.
"Dad I miss you."
"I miss you too. The year will be over before you know it and I'll see you on graduation."
"This isn't a dangerous assignment is it?" Irena asked.
"Irena, I will come home to you don't worry."
"I love you."
"I love you too. I got to go okay?"
"Bye."
"Bye"

Don't forget to give me your thoughts on the If Only I Could Hate You! I love hearing how you think our characters are doing :)
Irena, Irena... *shakes head* LOL. Micah is right she is kind of immature. Even though she wasn't trying to drown, I could see how he thought she was doing something dumb to get his attention. I feel like Irena needs to get over that "he is a jerk" feeling and get to know him. Yeah, he was a jerk to her before, but he's being nice now. :)
ReplyDeleteMicah most def went overboard by how upset he was about the drowning situation, but Irena did not realize that he had previously seen someone drown until now. She is already one step closer to knowing him better, but she still can't get past how jerky he was too her about her love letter. :)
ReplyDeletePoor Irena can't even hate Nina because she's so nice. And not even that fake bitchy passive-aggressive kind of nice (like Carma, 'I hope you two enjoy the party' lol). but really genuinely nice.
ReplyDeleteIrena has some serious competition there, everything about Nina just screams that she's Micah's type.
Oh man. I want to say 'poor Irena' but I think that would just add insult to injury on the day she just had! Nine being nice to her, then everyone ignoring Irena in favor of Nina. And just when I thought Micah was doing something nice... he wasn't so nice.
ReplyDeleteYes,Irena has had quite the day. Micah was being nice, in his own way. But, he has a past that kinda stings for him.
ReplyDeleteI really really like Nina. She has this thing about her... I'm sure she has her own issues though.
ReplyDeleteI felt kinda sorry for Irena when they were studying. She was really out of her league.
And of course, Micah... To the rescue! He's a hero for a minute then a complete jerk again the very next. Yay, Micah. >.<
Irena is definitely out of her league when it comes to Micah and Nina. They really are like clones of each other.
DeleteNina is smart and pretty, but remember when I said she is a clone of Micah.... well lets just not forget that ;)
Another awesome chapter! I really like how you integrate the Sims details, like Bridgeport and 'Oh my Plumbob'! Hehe, it's great :)
ReplyDeleteI really try to make my stories "sim" stories lol. I think it is fun and helps make up for all the weird things that happen in the game and in the shots LOL.
